Any medical facilities or pharmacies to go to in Playa Del Carmen in case of injury?

We are going to Playa Del Carmen for our honeymoon in a week, and my fiance recently injured his back. He is feeling better at the moment, but I am so worried something will happen while we are on our honeymoon, cause the smallest thing will put him back into extreme pain. If this was to happen can you get medical care down there? I have also heard you may be able to get pain meds otc or easily get a rx for them in mexico as long as you don't take them back into the US, is this true? He doesn't like to take pain meds that often, but this is our honeymoon and I don't want him to be miserable.
