Why do show dogs have such ridiculous names?

I clicked on "intersting" for this question. That's what I want to know for a long time. My dad's black lab dog Elke whose was a show dog and I remember her show name is something like "Git'r Done! Midnight Airborne Elke" I asked my dad why it's her name and he said it's just her real name and Elke is a nickname and then walked away, leaving me being baffled for years.
