Modern day messiah or the anti christ?

I was reading an answer to another question and that person stated that society is hurtling towards unification and peace. This will occur when the antichrist leads us astray. What christians have done then is when anyone in the future leads movements of peace and non violence they will be tagged with the antichrist label. Doesn't this prove that there is an evil core to this religion that needs a perpetual state of war in the world?
