I was arrested back in september and no charges have been filed yet.?

I was arrested back in sept and charged with Monetary instrument abuse.I was arrested sole on probable cause.I honestly have never broken the law and never intend to the cop that arrested me was a Douche bag the min i said i want a lawyer he said ur going straight to jail. i hired a Private lawyer to represent me. I have been calling every week since the arrest to see if charges have been filed and as of today 12/20 nothing has been filed. i did on the other hand try buying a hunting rifle for christmas and was delayed. so i did the instant back ground check and called them and they had me send in some paperwork with my fingerprints, after waiting awhile they sent me a copy of my file they have on me. it does show my arrest and shows it has not been dismissed.. how long does the DA have to file something?
