How do I listen in cl and focus and get my teacher to like me?

I have this really good looking teacher for history and although he is good looking he's really big headed, arrogant and basically treats you like a piece of **** if you don't understand something. Normally, I enjoy history which is why i chose to study it but this is the first time I've had him and I can honestly say I've lost track of everything! During the first few lessons with him, I found myself distracted and just staring at him and he was actually genuinely nice to me, like he would joke and laugh and explain things to me. However, my best friend from primary school joined our cl as she too decided to study history and because we haven't seen each other in ages we found ourselves talking all the time in history as it was pretty much the only time we spent together in school because of our different schedules. Since then, I've found it really hard to listen or concentrate in cl and since last week after he marked my book and essays, which i got a lot of C's and B's in, my teacher's really started to hate me. He picks on me all the time to answer questions even though he knows I don't get it, and he slams books in my face, and rolls his eyes whenever i don't got anything and always gives me evils whenever I see him in the corridor. I'm a straight A student and my target in history is A* but i keep getting C's and B's in my work, could that be a reason why he seemed particularly pissed off with me? He does always say stuff like 'how are you gona get anything above B let alone A* if you dont listen!' I normally get A's in history but since I've had him I seem to be clueless in anything history-related. what can i do? i have him tommorow and i really want to get in his good books again as I have been in a lot of trouble in school lately plus my parents will go mad at me as i am expected high grades ... :(
