Why do the on pacifiers turn yellow?

Sometimes pacies turn cloudy but sometimes they turn yellowish in color. I don't really notice it too much until I hold a brand new pacie thats perfectly clear next to it. Why is it yellow? From foods that my child is eating? Is it bacteria?
